"We are Young" Fun is the elected "Song of the Year"
The band won the 30th edition of the ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Los Angeles this week. The award is organized by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. The single was released in September 2011, but it was only last year that broke out around the world.
The song topped the charts in the U.S. and the UK and was one of the most played hits in 2012. "We Are Young" was composed by Andrew Dost and Nate Ruess, members of The Fun hit, and the music video, also with the participation of the singer Janelle Monae.
The ASCAP Pop Music Awards were also given for the sixth time the composer Max Martin. This was the third time he won the award and is the record holder of the award. Among other hits, Max was responsible for "Domino" singer Jessie J, "Part Of Me" by Katy Perry, and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift.
