Actor Richard Griffiths, the series of wizard Harry Potter, dies after surgery
LONDON, Mar 29 (Reuters) - British actor Richard Griffiths, best known for his roles in "The Misfits" and in the series of Harry Potter films, has died at age 65 after complications from heart surgery, said his agent on Friday.
Griffiths spent nearly four decades in radio, film, television and on stage, and received some of the highest industry awards for her role in the play "The History Boys" by Alan Bennett.
The actor scored the screens with the role of Uncle Monty in the cult film "The Misfits", 1987. But younger fans will remember him for a much more cruel - Vernon Dursley (Vernon, in the Brazilian version), the uncle of pink face of Harry Potter.
Daniel Radcliffe, who played the boy wizard and starred alongside Griffiths in the play "Equus," said the veteran artist trained and encouraged him, helping him to overcome nervousness.
